Harrdy Sandhu’s “Jee Karr Daa” — From Istanbul to Cappadocia with Line Production Turkey
Line Production Turkey delivered the Türkiye production of Harrdy Sandhu’s “Jee Karr Daa” music video for Sony Music India, bringing together Indian music talent, the creative vision of Tru Makers and some of Türkiye’s most distinctive locations across Istanbul and Cappadocia.
Released on 6 March 2020 by Sony Music India, “Jee Karr Daa” stars Harrdy Sandhu alongside actress Amyra Dastur. The track was written by Mellow D, with music and composition by Akull, while the video was directed by Tru Makers duo Dilsher Singh and Khushpal Singh.
*SONY MUSIC INDIA x TRU MAKERS x LINE PRODUCTION TURKEY*
The project began when Tru Makers shared their visual direction with Line Production Turkey and started exploring Türkiye as the setting for the film.
Following an extensive location research and pre-production process, LPT developed a selection of locations across Istanbul and Cappadocia to match the directors’ visual approach.
When director Khushpal Singh arrived in Türkiye for the final recce, the creative and production teams refined the locations together before Harrdy Sandhu, Amyra Dastur and the wider Indian crew joined the production.
Line Production Turkey then managed the complete Türkiye production infrastructure, coordinating locations, crews, equipment, transportation, logistics and on-set operations throughout the shoot.
Official music-video credits list the production locations as *Istanbul and Cappadocia, Türkiye*, with Line Production Turkey responsible for the local production.
*THREE DAYS ACROSS TÜRKİYE*
“Jee Karr Daa” was completed through an intensive three-day shoot in Türkiye.
Harrdy Sandhu himself later described the production as a three-day Turkish shoot involving dramatically different environments and weather conditions, specifically recalling the freezing temperatures experienced while filming in Cappadocia.
Two days of production focused on Istanbul, using multiple locations to create the urban and lifestyle sections of the film, before the production moved to Cappadocia for its final shooting day.
The Cappadocia sequences added an entirely different visual scale to the video, incorporating the region’s extraordinary landscape and its internationally recognizable hot-air-balloon environment.
Harrdy also spoke to Indian media about shooting the project in Istanbul while simultaneously working on the Bollywood feature “83,” describing “Jee Karr Daa” as a project that required a longer development process than many of his previous releases.
*HARRDY SANDHU & AMYRA DASTUR*
The video pairs Harrdy Sandhu with *Amyra Dastur*, marking their first music-video collaboration.
Their chemistry became one of the most discussed aspects of the release in Indian entertainment media, with behind-the-scenes images from the Türkiye shoot also receiving coverage following the launch of the song.
The film combines performance, choreography and travel-driven visuals, moving naturally between the energy of Istanbul and the cinematic landscapes of Cappadocia.
*TRU MAKERS BEHIND THE CAMERA*
The video was directed by *Dilsher Singh and Khushpal Singh of Tru Makers, with Muko Timrik* serving as Director of Photography.
Choreography was created by *Sahaj Singh and Shreoshi Kumar, while Adele Pereira handled editing and Tushar Desai completed the color grade. Sony Music India’s official credits also name Uluç Yemen Aslan* in the production credits for the project.
For Line Production Turkey, working closely with Tru Makers meant translating a creative treatment developed abroad into a practical multi-location production in Türkiye while preserving the directors’ visual ambitions.
*FROM THE TURKISH SET TO MILLIONS OF VIEWERS*
Following its release, “Jee Karr Daa” developed into a major digital success.
The official music video on Sony Music India’s verified YouTube channel has surpassed *63 million views, alongside more than 800,000 likes*.
The song also entered the UK’s Official Punjabi Music Chart, reaching a peak position of *No. 15* and spending multiple weeks inside the Top 20.
Indian media described the release as Harrdy Sandhu’s first single of 2020, following successful tracks including “Kya Baat Ay,” “Naah” and “Backbone.”
*A CONTINUING COLLABORATION WITH HARRDY SANDHU*
“Jee Karr Daa” also formed part of a wider relationship between Harrdy Sandhu’s team and Line Production Turkey.
The video was filmed before “Dance Like,” another Sony Music India project subsequently produced in Türkiye with Line Production Turkey.
Working on consecutive projects allowed the teams to develop a strong production rhythm and demonstrated Türkiye’s versatility for Indian music-video production — from the colorful streets and architecture of Istanbul to the unique landscapes of Cappadocia and the Aegean coast.
For Line Production Turkey, “Jee Karr Daa” remains a strong example of how international music productions can use Türkiye not merely as a backdrop, but as an important part of their visual identity.
